The enchanting website of the Romantic Ile Saint Louis.

Welcome to this Website dedicated exclusively to the romantic and enchanting Ile Saint-Louis, located in the heart of Paris. This site is, in fact, the first of its kind in that it offers the most accurate and thoroughly researched chronicle of the island's history on the Internet and has the best, up-to-date information on what is happening there today.

The purpose of this site is informative and was created in association with Guest Apartment Services in response to the desire to see the island more thoroughly represented on the Web. It chronicles the complete history of the Ile Saint-Louis starting with the first signs of civilization before the founding of Lutèce and ending with a section detailing the present-day atmosphere and attractions. The site also highlights the development of the island, three of the most notable Hotels Particuliers (noble townhouses) constructed there, and notable residents from the 19th century onward.

We invite any and all who wish to learn more about this lovely, peaceful place in the very center of the city of light to peruse the pages of this site. However, please be reminded that the pictures and the texts present here are the intellectual property of those that created them and we ask you not to use them in documents online or elsewhere without proper citation (please see bibliography for full details on images).

We wish you an excellent visit and tour on Ile Saint-Louis!
